Bizarro Burlesque Friday March 25th
Founder and owner of Bizarro Burlesque Productions, Dolly Dee is the
pioneer, flagship, and cornerstone for burlesque entertainment in her
home state of South Carolina. She is a burlesque performer, costume
designer, pin up model, go-go dancer, independent film actress, makeup /
special effects artist, and promoter. Since introducing burlesque to
her local community, Dolly has been the go-to guru, and mentor to those
interested in the art and culture. She is the founder, director and
production designer of the annual "Charleston Burlesque Festival", the
winter feature "On with the Showgirls", the annual fan appreciation
holiday party and toys for tots drive "Bizarro Burlesque Xmas Bazaar".
Dolly was named one of Maxim Magazine's "Girls of Dragon Con". She
performs at Charleston's most debauched and indulgent Halloween
extravaganza "Skinful" and Charleston's premier bi-annual arts festival
"Kulture Klash". Dolly has produced burlesque events in nearly every
venue in her hometown and was voted "Best Stage Show 2010" by the
Charleston City Paper. She has toured with the "Coney Island" and "Yard
Dog" road shows and performs up and down the East Coast including North
Carolina's "Heavy Rebel Weekender". Dolly hosted a night of "Dangerous
Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go Go" from New York City during their
national tour. She has organized charitable events and donates to local
charities, performs annually at Carabet for the Cure for the Susan G
Komen Foundation and is a featured guest at national USO (United Service
Organization) events to benefit our brave men and women of the United
States Armed Forces.
Purrrlesque Saturday March 26th
Feline Entertainment & Fanatique de Glam formed an alliance in 2008
with the collective thought process of growing the opportunity for
burlesque in NC. When that partnership didn’t work Feline Entertainment
coupled up, PUN intended, with the amazingness of a great COUPLE~ Jeff
and Jenn Martin. Together Burlesk! Continued to live on each month at
Artistika Nightclub until the birth of Purrrlesque! and a great move to the Blind Tiger on Walker Ave. Melding with the Blind Tiger’s rich 22+ year history to keep live entertainment alive in Greensboro it was a natural fit. Tiger RoxXx, Jeff and Jenn Martin work
hard to produce amazing and wonderful shows with the idea of not trying
to form a troupe but allowing the various performers from of the
Eastern Regions of the states a consistent venue to perform, the
audience a great place to have fun and enjoy a show, and the art of
Burlesque to continue as the legends of yesteryear would be proud. We
are trying to open the area to everyone and anyone who needs a venue to
perform Burlesque. We have found (like many art forms) the same group
of people move around different circles and while the venues might
change, the faces are the same, making it hard for a newcomer to get on
the scene. We like to hold auditions, and already have many successful
first timers to the world of Burlesque who have gone on to perform
around the state.

Sashame(sa-ShaMay)- Saturday March 26th
Sashame has been
dancing since she was four years old, when she took her first dance class in
Florida. At 17, she began studying classical ballet at the Winchester Ballet
Company, founded by her mother and Jamie Planck in Winchester, Kentucky. As a
ballet student, she danced for 10 years on both flat and pointe and became a
core member of the studio’s dance troupe.
Trading her ballet shoes for hip scarves, she began belly dancing in the fall of 2006. She is influenced by Tribal Fusion belly dancers Zoe Jakes and Rachel Brice, although she is currently delving into Egyptian Cabaret style. Check out Sashame performing with Torque at Summer Solstice 2009.
